The Bellefonte YMCA is currently accepting applications for part-time Assistant Swim Team Coaches to be responsible for assisting in planning, coaching, and leading the swim team to mee the goals and objectives of the YMCA’s competitive swim team program. Coaches are needed to assist with summer practices on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at the Mountain Top Pool in Snow Shoe from 10 AM to 12 PM. The summer season will run from June 13 to July 30.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist the head coach in planning, organizing, and developing the program.
• Maintain proper team records, file reports as needed.
• Ensure the safety of participants at all times.
• Plan, attend, and direct team practices as scheduled.
• Attend all team meets and assist in coordinating entry information to meet all deadlines.
• Initiate and maintain active communication concerning all aspects of the program with the head coach, swimmers, parents, and necessary Y staff. Redirect any concerns or questions to the head coach.

Qualifications:

• 3 years of aquatic experience as a competitive swimmer or aquatic instructor.
• Working knowledge of competitive aquatics.
• Ability to positively lead, communicate, inspire, and motivate swimmers of all ages.
• Valid driver’s license and access to personal vehicle.

Salary/Benefits:

• $10 - $12 per hour depending on experience.
