YMCA of Centre County’s Bellefonte Branch is currently accepting applications for full-time Child Care Teachers who will be responsible for providing an environment rich in activities and experiences to promote the development of each child enrolled in our program.

Primary Responsibilities

-Maintain knowledge and understanding of PA Department of Public Welfare (DPW) regulations.
-Supervise all children and be physically present with the group of children in your care.
-When engaging children in activities, consider the needs of individual children with concern for their interests, special talents, individual style, and pace of learning.
-Assist with the development and implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum.
-Interact and participate in games, activities, and special programs with children in a positive and enthusiastic manner.
-Assist in daily communication with parents.
-Utilize positive disciplinary methods including, but not limited to, redirection, positive reinforcement, proactive guidance, and if needed, appropriate time outs.
-Assist with the completion of any necessary administrative paperwork (i.e. meal counts, attendance, incident reports, supply requests, etc.)

Qualifications (should meet ONE of these criteria)

-Bachelor's degree in education or human service field.
-Associate's degree in education or human service field plus 1 year of experience working with children totaling a minimum of 1250 hours.
-Bachelor's degree in a non-human service field plus 30 credits in education or human service field plus 2 years of experience working with children totaling a minimum of 2500 hours.
-Associate's degree in a non-human service field plus 30 credits in education or human service field plus 3 years of experience working with children totaling a minimum of 3750 hours.

Salary/Benefits

-$1,000 sign-on bonus.
-$10.00 to $13.00 per hour depending on experience with opportunities for increases.
-403(b) retirement program.
