Job Description/Requirements

Our Moshannon Valley Branch is currently accepting applications for a full-time, non-exempt Sports and Wellness Director to be responsible for overseeing all youth and wellness programs, including supervision of the fitness center and weight room and other programs as deemed necessary.
The Sports and Wellness Director may work varying hours each week with the occasional need for weekend or evening work due to special events/programs or direct service responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities
• Direct, supervise, and develop programs, special events, and activities to meet the needs of and maintain relationships within the community.
• Work with the Marketing and Communications Director to market and distribute program information.
• Develop and monitor budgets for the youth and wellness departments.
• Approve staff timecards on a bi-weekly basis for payroll and create schedules for youth and wellness staff.
• Supervise the year-round competitive youth basketball league and the AAU volleyball league, which includes securing facilities and officials as well as distribution of schedules, rules, and guidelines.
• Oversee other youth programs, group land exercise programs, and personal training programs.
• Coordinate use of the facility for program activities or events.
• Hire and train staff and volunteers to work in the youth and wellness departments. Evaluate staff on an annual basis.
• Contribute to overall growth and retention of Y members, placing the needs of members as a key priority at all times.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Previous professional working experience in a related field (youth or fitness programming).
• At a minimum, must possess the YMCA Trainer and YMCA Group Exercise certifications OR an NSCA or ACSM certification.
Salary/Benefits
• $16.82 to $19.82 per hour.
