Stahl Sheaffer is currently seeking to hire a Designer to join our Transportation Team at one of our Pennsylvania
office locations in State College, Clearfield, or Canonsburg.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist the Project Team in the development and design of road and highway projects which consist of the plans,
specifications, and estimates
• Develop feasible design alternatives and compare significant parameters
• Review design details and coordinate technical recommendations
• Assess the cost‐effective constructability of the project and generally evaluate the quality of the project
• Provide day‐to‐day technical support, guidance, and input
• Assist in the preparation or modification of reports, studies, permits, and designs for various projects
• Instruct CAD technicians to reduce designs to working drawings

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• Up to 5 years of experience with engineering projects relating to land development, stormwater, and
transportation designs and development of bid packages for project advertisement into construction
• Working knowledge of highway design engineering, design manuals, roadway design standards, drainage,
stormwater management, and E&S control as they relate to design
• Proficient working knowledge of Microstation, Open Roads, and Autoturn
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication with co-workers, clients, and the general public

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Engineer-in Training (EIT) preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• A valid driver’s license and daily access to a motor vehicle
• The ability to obtain state and federal background clearances to permit working on-site when necessary
